Obituary of Thelma Doreen Martin
MARTIN, Thelma
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Thelma Martin on November 27th, 2024, at Case Manor in Bobcaygeon in her 97th year. Thelma lived a full and meaningful life, guided by her deep Christian faith, her tireless work ethic, and her enduring love for her family. Thelma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wallace, with whom she shared many cherished years. Together, they raised a loving family and built a life of dedication and service on their farm. Thelma was the beloved mother of Willa Smithers (Fred), both of whom predeceased her; Miles Martin (Jayne); Carolyn Mutch (Jonathan); Ivan Martin, who predeceased her (Heather); Leonard Martin (Anna Mae); and Deborah Martin. The family also acknowledges Pam Martin, as a valued part of their shared history.
Thelma’s legacy extends to her 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, who brought her immense joy and pride. A hard worker, Thelma took pride in tending the land, caring for her children, and working at the family maple sugarbush. Her family will forever remember her as a strong, loving, and faithful matriarch who lived her life with grace and determination. Thelma will be deeply missed, but her love, values, and example will remain a guiding light for all who knew and loved her.
