George attended Courtice Secondary School in his youth before coming to Bobcaygeon with Gail to raise their family in the mid 1970's. Together, their first business on Main St, “Kawartha Meats and Deli” thrived from 1982 – 1997 serving as a hub for the finest cuts of meat, prepared foods and custom butchering. Later, George and his family continued and grew - “The Original Just For The Halibut” on King Street, from 2006 – present. He will be remembered by many who knew him for his generosity, kindness of spirit, storytelling, and great food.
