Obituary of Frederick George Abbott

ABBOTT: Frederick George “Fred”

Passed away at home in Newmarket on Friday December 6, 2024.  Fred Abbott in his 94^th year.  Fred spent his life farming in King City until his retirement in 1997 when he moved to Newmarket.  He was the loving husband of the late Marie (née Dunford d. 2007).  Cherished father of Beverly Spence (Jim), Allan (Wendy) and Doug (Francesco).  Remembered by grandchildren Jesse, Jennifer (Darren), Jackie, great grandchildren Mackenzie, Kaylie, Peyton, Mason, Abigail, Ashtyn and great great grandson Grayson.  Survived by his sister Marilyn Elliott.  Predeceased by sister Shirley Polson, brother Roger Abbott (Merna), brother-in-law Orville Elliott, and great granddaughter Adalyn Grace.  A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment Lakefield Cemetery.  A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice as expressions of sympathy, and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
