Obituary of June Hilda Brown

 

BROWN, June Hilda

 

Honouring our clever, beautiful and sweet Mum, June Brown (nee O’Donovan) in her 91st year who passed away peacefully finding the joy in life right to the end surrounded by love with her family by her side at Hospice Peterborough on January 3, 2025. Mum had a deep faith in the good Lord and this gave her immense strength and courage to live her life with dignity, equanimity and full of grace. 

 

Beloved wife of the late Harold “Harry” Brown for 61 years and now reunited again. Dearly loved and will be immensely missed mother of Kevin Brown, Joanne Brown and Christine Knappett (Jeff). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Shannon Buchel (Richard), Kaylyn Brown (Corey Payne), Jarred Brown (Amélie Morrow), Brenden Brown, Sierra Lowery (Sean), Angelo Knappett (Teaghan Durand) and Carleigh Knappett and her great grandchildren Maya Buchel, Taya, Aaron, Rylie and Briana Payne and Jackson Lowery. Predeceased by her parents, two brothers and one sister, survived by many nieces and nephews all in England from where in 1958 Mum and Dad newly married immigrated to Canada. 

 

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Reverend Canon Brad Smith, extended family and friends, the staff and residents whose kindness and friendship Mum cherished at Royal Gardens Retirement Residence, the medical team at PRHC palliative care unit for their compassionate exceptional care, especially from Dr. Jaimi Heidman, SE Health, Care Partners, the incredible Hospice Peterborough team who have all answered a calling and who are truly wonderful people and Hendren Funeral Home for all the support received. 

 

Memorial donations may be made to the SickKids VS Foundation, Hospice Peterborough, UNICEF Canada, or a charity of one’s choice as expressions of sympathy. Friends may send condolences and may make donations at  www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-639-5322. 

 

Arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – NORWOOD CHAPEL. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at a Celebration of Life Service at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 99 Brock Street, PETERBOROUGH on Thursday January 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
