KANE, William (Bill) John
1938 – 2025
Sadly, announcing Bill’s death on January 10th, 2025, due to complications after a fall in July. After many short-lived jobs, Bill found his career at Air Canada, where he was well respected by friends and colleagues for over 28 years. Upon retirement, the Toronto native moved to Lakefield where he and Judy gained a ‘new family’ in the wonderful neighbours on Hague Blvd.
Bill is pre-deceased by his daughter Charlene in 1973, his son Richard in 2017, his two younger sisters Carole, Donna, and his Niece Christine. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife Judy (55 years together), his sister Adele, Sister-in-law Bonnie, Brother-in-law Bill, Step-daughter Linda (Glenn), Grandchildren Eric, Ian (Gloria) Aidan, Emily and India. As well as a Niece, four Nephews and “Greats” Galore.
Loved by all who knew him well, Bill was a gentleman and a gentle man.
Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will celebrate his life at a later date in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital or to The Peterborough Regional Health Centre who cared for him so wonderfully, or just pay tribute by being kind to one another.
