We were lucky enough to live sandwiched between Orval and Grace on one side of us, and Darlene, Glen and the boys on the other side. We enjoyed our frequent visits with Orval and Grace over tea, a game of crokinole, or just a visit out on the road. We always learned a bit of history spending time with Orval and we were on the receiving end of several beautiful hand made creations that Orval would leave on our doorstep. We felt very blessed, protected and fortunate living amongst the Bolton families. Orval you will be missed. And Glen you are missed too. Thinking of you all and sending our love.

We first met Grace and Orval when they moved into the Peterborough Manor and were impressed with his determination to get around slowly with his walker. Despite being in pain most of the time he always had a cheerful greeting for everyone. We will miss him. He will remain in our memories as one whose path we were privileged to cross. Our special love and prayers go to all of his family and with each new day may peace find a place in all your hearts -- as each of you remember something special about Orval.

Orval's legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren. He and Grace are blessed with such a close loving family, most of whom still live nearby to tell his stories and use the skills he handed down - in the bush, in the workshop, and in the canoe!

We were blessed with Orval's presence since late 2012. Orval truly was an interesting man. His fondest stories were logging, building his stone fire places, crafting his beautiful wooden jewelry boxes and playing/listening to fiddles. He was happy to share his photos and stories with everyone. He made many friends along the way. Orval will be greatly missed by all of us! Sincerest condolences.

I'm so sorry to hear about Orvil's passing. I had the honour of meeting him when Council presented him with the Senior of the Year award in 2007. I remember that we both believed in the importance of knowing where you come from if you want to know where you're going. What a loss for our community! My thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Thinking of you all Bolton family @ this time of Orval passing. Feeling very blessed that our son also has been blessed with the many gifts Orval has passed on through his learned spirit by way of generation & friendship. It is with great respect we remember all he has engrained in you all to carry forward. Kyle recently was part of a Maple Syrup process with your family that no doubt has been passed traditionally on to his blessed children and grandchildren. Also thinking of Mrs. Crowe teaching ours, Carol Shewen and her's politely and happily receiving friends with such kindness...Chris and family@ the arena with wonderful sportsmen. All of which no doubt are such an extension of Orval and Mrs. Bolton's very familial, gracious, and brilliant ways. I guess we are just appreciative of the goodness that will always grow.
