I worked at Clearview cottages as a teenager many years ago and it was quite the adventure. Brian was the best boss ever, allowing staff to waterski while being paid. He also let us play games of hide and seek with the kids, have bonfires and of course roast marshmallows. Ping pong was a daily competitive sport at the resort in which Brian reigned supreme. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of this dear man. I will never forget my time at Clearview cottage resort. Love to Rita, Nick, Jillian and Brianne, he loved and lived for you and everyone at the Resort. Take care of each other.

When my muskie lure got hung up on the bottom and I told Brian, he asked me where it was and unknown to me he put on his mask, dove into deep water and retrieved it. Who else would do that? I told Brian that he would make a great Phys. Ed. teacher and I would love to have him in my department. He would cook up a large muskie and take it around to everybody in the camp for a sample. One of the finest people Jenny, myself and the family have every met. When Christine, her sisters and a friend went to Clearview Brian made sure he kept on eye on them and that they were safe. He was the heart and soul of Clearview Cottage Resort.
Always in our thoughts and prayers.

To Brian's Beloved Family, I'm a new Knight at St.Paul's. During the time of his celebration of Life today I poured warm water over an ice cross I have made by lock #26 yesterday. The moment I poured water over the cross thinking of him birds came from everywhere including a bald headed eagle circling directly over a couple of times. The ice yelled out as if it was to give way. His Spirit lives on! I know it.

To Rita and family,
Peter and I could not attend the Celebration of LIfe today as we are out of country, however, our thoughts were with you - every time we met Brian he had a big smile and a friendly word.....he will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Words cannot express our deep feelings of loss and sympathy for a lovely man but he would be proud of you carrying on and keeping his memory alive. I hope you had many hugs today and shared great stories with those in attendance.
Best regards and thoughts,

Amber and I will always remember Brian's warmth and hospitality when we visited the resort. I think we still have a paperback from the library! He taught us how to drive one of the boats and we still recall his kindness and patience. Our condolences to Rita, Brianne, and Chris.

When I think of Brian, I always think of him as the guide to our yearly escape. and we could not have had a better one. It was a family with other families. sharing their journeys.... the real estate tours... watching all the kids become adults...Brian has always been part of my favourite week of the year..and that is what I will miss the most..... his trips to the bon fire...a little Gordon Lightfoot... or whatever mood he wanted to hear.... look forward to celebrating his life

I was so saddened to hear the news about Brian! I remember the first day I met Brian - Frosh weekend in 1975 at Queen’s University. We had all been dropped off by our parents on the Saturday and woke up Sunday morning hungry with no clue where to get something to eat. Brian appeared in the hallway of our residence announcing that he was making grilled cheese sandwiches in his room for anyone who wanted to join him! I’ll never forget his huge smile and generosity, as well as his resourcefulness!! And the sandwiches were the best ever!
Seems like only yesterday and yet it was over 40 years ago! That is the kind of impact Brian had on everyone he met!

We mentioned Brian's name at all our masses this weekend and will celebrate a memorial mass for him at our church on January 20th at 10am.
We missed you at Christmas and wondered what happened. We were shocked when we got the word. Brian was a wonderful, generous, kind and loving man.
God bless you.

Deepest sypathies and condolences to the Harrington family and Brian's circle of friends - I was at the Grove with Brian 1973 -1975 and remember a gentle giant - an outstanding athlete with a modest - humble demeanor - warm smile and helping hand for everyone. Enjoyed seeing Brian at Clearview (ten year school reunion and a weekend stag party) as a host - caring steward of a family property and popular "camp director".
Brian - you will be missed and lovingly remembered by many.

My thoughts are with Brian's family and friends, from way out west in Vancouver. Brian was an amazing blend of toughness and tenderness, one of the finest team members I ever knew. Fond memories remain of our years together at the Grove, and the wonderful time he hosted us for our 10 year reunion at the resort, in 1985. Rest in peace, good friend.

I remember my first trip to Clearview and meeting Brian, asking if he needed a hand with anything. I'm a workaholic and to just relax wasn't in my portofolio. I rememer him telling to sit back and relax, and enjoy to rest my soul. I didn't kowwhat he meant and I felt slighted by not being able to help. It took me about 5 to 6 years to realize what he menat and now because of him I can truly relax and "rest my soul" when I come to Clearview. God speed sir may you now be able to relax and rest your soul.
