I met Don in graduate school at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton in 1971. We quickly became close friends and kept in contact ever since that first day. We were both very competitive in every aspect. Somehow he managed to come out on top in almost all of our contests. I enjoyed every moment I spent with him. I will miss his friendship, kindness and his immense knowledge in so many practical areas.

Don was a valued friend both at work and at play. I will always remember our trip to Myrtle Beach and given the opportunity to share his cold as well as several rounds of golf. It was always fun playing bridge with him and kibitzing why he didn't make 3 NT. Don will be missed by us all.

I first met Don in 1973 as my mathematics instructor. He showed great patience with me, always willing to spend the extra time I required. These attributes extended to our first field operation together, me as the apprentice. Later in our careers we had a cooperative working relationship in which I valued his thoughtfull advice. I saw Don last year at this time and he was most gracious both vowing to keep in touch. Unfortunaley this is the last message dear friend, rest in peace.

I have known Don since I first came to ASE in 1965 and looked upon him as a mentor and friend. The last time I saw him with his good friend Gord Simpson he was his jovial self and in good spirits.
I will always remember my good times with Don over my lengthy military and lengthy civilian servies with Don.
Rest in peace Don.

I am very surprised to hear of Don's passing. I have known Don since 1965 and we worked together on the plotters, He was taking university courses at night and some of us covered for him during the day. He was my boss for my last 10 or 12 years. He will be missed.

We'll miss Don. He was a quiet gentle man but had a great sense of humour. Once he got used to our shenanigans at Aviemore every Sunday morning, he gave as good as he got. He was our friend.

So surprised and sadden to hear of this. Don was one of my instructors (math) when I arrived at MCE and was with us in Shilo in 1973, later working with him on PMO office. I kept in touch with Don over the years playing a lot of golf and last heard from him at Christmas. He was a good man and will be missed.

Condolences to the family! I worked with Don when he was Officer in Charge of Field Print and again in the Program Management Office. Don was meticulous in everything he did and equally demanding of his subordinates. We had some hilarious times, which will always be remembered. Rest In Peace my friend!
