Obituary of Laureen Joy Hayes

HAYES, Laureen Joy (née Wiebe)

Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario on Monday, August 24 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Laureen, of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, formerly of Mississauga, was in her 62^nd year. She was predeceased by her dear husband, Kevin Joseph Lee Hayes, and was the beloved mother of Michael (Alessandra) and Karen (Adrian). She loved her family and her adopted home of Bobcaygeon. From the time she and Kevin moved to Bobcaygeon in 2015, Laureen was an enthusiastic and involved member of the community. She curled at the local curling club, baked her famous butter tarts for Meals on Wheels, and was an avid Mahjong player in the neighbourhood Mahjong club. In her spare time, Laureen greatly enjoyed knitting, painting, and her trips overseas with Kevin. Family and friends alike will fondly remember, and sorely miss, her caring nature, bright spirit, and infectious laughter.

Her interment will be held on Friday, August 28 at 11am at the Glendale Cemetery on 1810 Albion Road in Etobicoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
