Dear Karen, David, and family,
I was so very sorry to hear the news of Ann's passing, leaving a huge void not only in your family, but also for all those who were very fortunate to know her and especially her skating students who so benefited from her expertise for so many years.
Ann was my coach at the Lindsay club and next to my mother and family, she was the next most important person in my life at that time. She gave me the belief in myself along with the skills that were instrumental all throughout my skating career which spanned 33 years (and even now as I have returned to skating). Even though we moved to Welland, I continued my skating and my Mom, soon after our move, took me to Brantford for several lessons in order to still benefit from Ann's knowledge. I continued to have much success as a test skater in later years, now as an adult, all thanks to Ann. We unfortunately later lost touch, but I am so grateful we reconnected a few years ago and I was pleased, most recently, to be able to thank Ann for her wonderful influence on my skating career along with telling her how important she was to me.
What a beautiful lady and coach with an extraordinary career that was shared with so many!
Karen, David, and family members, my thoughts are with you all as you go through the very difficult 'first year of firsts' and later on as Ann will be truly missed.
My sincere condolences,
Virginia Davies
