It is so sad to hear of Jim's death, we spent a whole lot of time together in shrimp and fish plants in North America and Asia. Please do let me know when there will be a service.
Jim hired me in the early 80’s at the Courtland St Knechtels in Kitchener. He was truly the most kind and generous man (and boss) that I have ever met in my entire work life. Although he was the boss, he was really just one of the team. He was an awesome mentor and I really appreciated that in my early years of work. Jim was a good and kind person and my condolences go out to the whole family.
Jim Grandy was my first boss at Mr. Grocer in the mid 80’s and I loved working for him, he was a passionate leader with amazing customer service skills, all while being approachable and supportive to his employees which is a rare skill.
As we both moved forward in our careers, I looked forward to running into him at grocery events and was excited every time I saw him over the years.
I will never forget Jim and the valuable life lessons he taught me and he has left a lifelong impression on me.
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.
