Obituary of Tammy Lynn Underwood

It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of Tammy Underwood, of Lakefield, on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the age of 47. She will be forever loved and missed by her husband and best friend, Stephen of 29 years.

Proud and loving mom of Jake (Dee), Kendra (Carter), and Alexis. Tammy leaves behind her parents, Lee and Bridget ‘Bride’ (née Haire), and her brother, Scott (Lisa) Rhynold. She will be missed by her mother-in-law, Joanne Mahood (née Rosborough), and brothers-in-law, Wayne, Richard, David (Heidi), and Mark (Gail).

Predeceased by her father-in-law, Ronald Mahood (2012) and her dog, Buddy (2015). Tammy will be remembered by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Her dogs, Ollie and Wrangler will deeply feel her absence.   

Tammy had a generous soul, who always found time for others and had the ability to make you feel heard. She was compassionate, kind-hearted and authentic, and her tireless commitment and immense passion to help those around her was inspiring, so returning to school in 2017 to become a licenced funeral director just made sense. In this role, she served many of the families in her community with care and compassion. Tammy loved spending time outdoors - appreciating the simplest beauties in life - whether it was camping with friends, cruising on her motorcycle, or sitting by a campfire enjoying a glass of wine or three. She always looked forward to the time spent in the hot tub with Steve, watching the sunset and sharing their day’s events. She took pride in being a part of her community; working at the Chamber of Commerce and volunteering with Community Care, the Lakefield Legion, and as a Scout leader. Her charismatic and outgoing personality welcomed many friendships and everlasting memories. Above all, Tammy was honoured and privileged to be a mother and wife and her love for her family was unconditional.
