We were so saddened to hear of Uncle Tony's passing. He was such a kindhearted and gentle soul. When I think of Uncle Tony, I will always remember his kindness and compassion towards others. He was so very kind to me. He was one of the first to welcome me into the Van den Broek family, with an open heart and a genuineness that I have often thought of and always appreciated.
Tony and I both had a great deal respect for your dad - father-in-law, Opa. We will hold dear our own special memories of a truly wonderful man.

The passing of your father and our ome Toon comes to us with great sadness. We live far from each other, but our distant thoughts are always with our family in Canada.

Condolences to the family:
Sorry to read of the passing of Tony,memories come flooding back of his days on the windmill farm and his strawberry fields where the community would pick their strawberries how delicious they were .I also was so grateful to Tony and Mary for their volunteering efforts to make sure my mom always got to her Dialysis appointments .She really enjoyed her time spent on the drives from Warsaw there and back with them both .I have heard so many lovely comments made over the years of this man and I never saw him without a smile and interest when you would come across him .I’m sure your memories are plentiful and you all will miss him .

To the Van den Broek family: My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your dad,father in law and Opa. Lots of memories for sure. I always remember your dad telling the story of our dad being the first friend he had in Douro. So sweet. We have a connection for sure. Katherine being Angela´s godmother. Your dad was so kind . I will always remember he loved our lads. One Sunday I was minister of the eucharist and Oscar was away . Was hesitant to give out communion as you know how boys are. Your mother and dad graciously watched as I did my duty and to my surprise they were well behaved. :). They always sat in the fourth pew and we were one ahead.
