Obituary of Lorne Belshaw Redfern

REDFERN: Lorne Belshaw

 

Passed away at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on Thursday August 19, 2021.  Lorne Redfern of Norwood in his 82nd year.  Lorne retired after 30+ years with the RCMP/CSIS allowing him more time to spend at one of his favourite places, the cottage on Dickey Lake. Many friends and family of Lorne’s will have fond memories of their visit to his cottage. Lorne was also an avid Blue Jays fan rarely missing a game. He will be remembered by his family, neighbours, friends near and far and special friend Audry for his kindness, generosity, love of animals and unique sayings “ah route”, “cool your jets” and “routine”. In Lorne’s words, “ this is just routine big guy”.  Lorne is remembered by his daughter Anne Taylor (Daniel) of Peterborough, son Barry Redfern (Krista) of Millbrook and his grandchildren Bradlee (Katrina) and Alyssa.  Survived by his brother Barry Redfern (Ana) of Mexico, nephew Grant (Christine), niece Karen and great niece Tess.  Predeceased by his wife Marion (Sherlock) (d. 2008) and his parents Reginald & Pearl (Bidwell).  Cremation has taken place.  A private family interment will be held at Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery.  Friends may leave a condolence for the family by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood or at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com.
