Obituary of Catherine Helen Found
We sadly announce the passing of Catherine Helen Found (née Jevons) in Peterborough, on March 4, 2022. Catherine was surrounded by her five children and passed away peacefully.
Our mother was a loving, energetic, wise, quick-witted, and humble woman and we were blessed to have her as our Mom. Catherine went to school in Ottawa where she met her future husband, Bruce. They married in 1953 and so began the Found family.
She raised us to be kind and generous, and she loved to provide not only for our family, but for many of our friends, and also for those less fortunate. She was known for her creativity both in the kitchen and the sewing room. She loved to do everything from scratch – we never lacked for home-made bread, and many of the costumes she created for Trinity United Church theatre productions are still used and considered masterpieces.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband Bruce, and grandson Duncan. She is survived by her children Christie, Marion (Brad), Margaret (George), Paul (Sherry), and Jennifer (Gary), ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
We would especially like to thank Lionel Towns and his staff at Fairhaven Home for their exceptional love and care of our Mom.
Please consider a donation in Catherine Found’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Peterborough as Catherine and Bruce were founding members of the board. A Celebration of her life will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES- LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
