Nancy Elizabeth Pendergest (Moynes) passed away with her daughters at her side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on December 6, 2023, in her 73rd year. Survived and lovingly remembered by her husband James of 44 years. Cherished and beloved mother to Christina (Brad) and Caleigh (Chase). Nancy was a nurturing grandmother and will be deeply missed by her three grandchildren Brielle, Addison, and Caleb. She will forever be remembered by her siblings Douglas (MaryLynn), Rick (Debbie), Allan (Barbara) and Wayne (Shelley). Nancy will also be missed by her friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Born in Belleville ON, Nancy had fond memories of growing up in a number of homes throughout the Hastings County area. As a solid “A+” student and avid reader, she attended the University of Guelph and Queen’s University and became a highly regarded high school teacher at Lakefield District Secondary School for 30 years. For many years, she was active in the Lakefield United Church community through governance and senior choir. Her recent passion was spending time with grandchildren and the cottage was her special place. Nancy always found time for knitting, reading, and walking.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Hendren Funeral Home - Lakefield Chapel. As per the family’s request, a private interment will be taking place.
