We are sorry to hear that Ted has passed away. Ted was a great help to us when Adam was at LCS and singing in the Peterborough Singers choir. He was Adam's uber! They enjoyed many conversations and a few chocolate bars together on those nights. Ted also served as a Tutor for Tyler when he was a student at LCS and in need of some support. Lovely memories for all of us. Sincere condolences from the Bishop Family (Kim, Brian, Adam ('08)and Tyler ('12).

It is with a profound sadness, that I learn of the passing of Mr. Ingram. He had a sharp wit to him and knowing that my mother tongue was French, always took the time to have a conversation in French with me as often as the opportunity arose. He always had a genuine interest in knowing about my mother, since she was raising two children - well, at least one. He did his best with the other one! One of my fondest memories is when I was introduced to photography, and thanks to and old Browning camera in a smooth brown leather case, offered on loan to me by none other than Ted Ingram, it opened up a whole world of expression and memories I still am fond of to this day.
Please allow me to express my sincere condolences for your loss.

I am so sorry to have just read the news of Mr. Ingram's death. Mr. Ingram was a large part of the Lakefield experience and had a great deal of time helping any student no matter what. He had a great sense of humor and loved a pun. He was a major presence at the school and to all of us who sought his council. I am sincerely sorry for your loss.

Living on opposite sides of the world, we were lucky to get to know Uncle Ted when he and Daphne visited and at family meetups. I remember Ted careering round Rottnest Island on bikes, powering up the Gloucester Tree, canoeing in France… always up for activities AND ready with a pun! He was a lovely man and will be very missed.

I remember Uncle Ted as calm and thoughtful, and as always having a pun at the ready - they were both clever and frequent. I was very sad to hear of his passing, it is a big loss. My thoughts are with all the family during this time.

Had periodic contact with Ted through rugby since the late 1960's. I was fortunate enough to room with Ted on an overseas tour (in 2004 I believe). He and Daphne would usually drop by the Peterborough Club at least once a year.
Ted was always a class act - calm, trustworthy and highly principled - along with his little smile. Ted will be missed.

We are saddened by Ted’s passing and extend our deepest sympathies to Ted’s entire family. We were fortunate enough to get to know Ted as LCS parents (‘96 and ‘99) and we have kept a wonderful connection over all the years since. Ted’s kindness, warmth and humour allowed us to instantly feel part of The Grove community. Since then, we have marvelled at his annual hand written Christmas letter, updating us on his travels and each family member, always with his signature clever quips. We feel blessed to have followed Ted and his growing family and exploits each Christmas. Ted touched each member of our family in a unique and meaningful way. He will be missed by so many, a life very well lived.

Ted was a warm, kind and generous brother-in-law to David, who was incredibly fond of him and who I would like to think is with him now. When I came on the scene he extended that warmth to me and then to Andrew, Alison and Sarah. We are so sad he has gone. His essence will always be in the ether, but it's not the same - and we will have to manage without the puns. Lots and lots of love to Nicola, Torin, Toni, Kayli, Brianna, Chris and especially Daphne.

I consider myself fortunate at LCS to have been taught, coached in diverse sports, and to call a Ted a mentor. He had a great spirit about him with his very-intelligent nature, and an infectious sense of humour. The world could use more people like Ted for sure. He will be missed, and I will think fondly of him through many great memories. I give my condolences to his family!

Ted, Daphne, Nicola and Toni were the first people the Sunderland family met when we arrived at LCS with a UHaul full of furniture. Daphne invited us in where little Mary was entertained by the Ingram kids and Ken and Ted got right to work unloading the UHaul. Everything was quickly carried up a flight of stairs to our new apartment in Memorial House and Ken proclaimed Ted the strongest man he had ever met. That introduction led to a lifetime friendship that enriched the Sunderland family so much. Ted will be greatly missed. My heartfelt condolences to Daphne, Nicola, Toni and the whole Ingram family.

Beyond working with Ted as a colleague, lucky me, I got to go on an Algonquin expedition and the Brigantine with him - and was guest coached by “Mr Ingram” in rugby when I was in high school!
What a special man he was. Always so kind, so generous, so positive and forgiving. Ever so witty, with his groaner puns (accompanied by those loveable, munchkin smiles of his). A true “Housemaster” in the most traditional and best of ways.
He cared so deeply for everyone he taught and worked with. All of our lives were warmed by Ted’s kind-hearted, ever-loving presence. Lucky us.

When you saw coal about yourself , he saw diamond . When you tried to cut corners he called you out on it. Even the sides of football pitches. He would always push you, to take yourself to that next level you didn’t think you had.
A fond memory was when he challenged us to a race across the football pitch during U16 soccer practice . The bet was: Anyone that lost had to do push ups and anyone that beat him he would do push ups. He started slow off the gun but like Father Christmas on his sleigh- ride, he passed everyone by the halfway line and ended up beating almost everyone.
The man, the coach , the teacher , the legend.

I fondly remember Master Ted, most recently at an Amnesty International Dinner where I helped him move tables & chairs. It reminded me of the those huge tables in the LCS dining hall when I was a student. That was 2007, he seemed as an oak himself.
Former MP Peter Adams, who also passed recently, was attending the dinner as well. It was at such occasions that Ted & Peter stood up for human rights. In this world, human rights are limited day by day. My condolences to Daphne & family, Ted was a humanist teacher in the finest tradition.

Mr. Ingram was a very special teacher, mentor, and friend. His passions for teaching, cricket, amazingly bad puns, and keeping people from walking across the corner of the soccer field were always communicated with the sharpest of wit and a subtext of love. His spirit touched the lives of many and the impact he made can not be understated.
Condolences to his family.

Mr. Ingram had an enormous impact on my life. He made me captain of an otherwise all male cricket team. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this action instilled in me the belief that I was not only capable, but also worthy of doing whatever I put my mind to. He had the kindest heart and was always there to listen, quietly offering sage advice, or a perfectly timed pun with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Sending my deepest condolences to his family.

Mr. Ingram had great character mixed with passion for education. Between multiple years of French class and one year of varsity soccer, it was a privilege to spend time and learn from him. With coaching in particular, he found the right balance of pressing you to dig deep without ever coming across as a tyrant. I still recall one moment where his belief in my abilities was greater than my own. He pushed me to deliver a particular performance I didn’t think was possible and afterwards, simply nodded to acknowledge the outcome he knew was there all along. 20+ years later, that memory sticks with me and is the mark of an educator who truly cared.
Love and condolences to his family.

Ted was one of my favourite teachers at LCS. I have many great memories in class (mostly his puns) and on the cricket pitch when he was my coach. I also remember well Saturday morning assemblies when Ted would get up in front of the school with a bag full of trash he had collected on his short journey from his house. He would then, with great humour, describe each item and from where it had been discovered! And he was very protective of the main playing field in springtime!
Ted was a gentle and patient man I will miss him. My condolences to his family.

I had the privilege to sing in the Peterborough Singers at the same time as Ted for about 20 years. Ted travelled to York , England to perform at Yorkminster with the Singers. I rented a car instead of going with everyone else on the city bus. I could not find my way home on the confusing ring road system. Ted offered bravely to sit in the left side passenger seat to help me get back to the university dorms building. Also, once when I was upset about being late for a practice, he just quietly sat beside me until I stopped crying. So kind.
